Individuals, couples and families on vacation often search for meals, entertainment and hotel accommodations when traveling to Texas; or planning a special event such as a wedding.
However, accidents and inappropriate guest behavior can lead to damaged premises or hotel rooms affecting your bottom line. When you’re in the hospitality industry, insurance coverage is crucial to keeping your property and staff protected.
Hospitality Industry and Hotel Insurance Programs
Our insurance companies have designed options for the hospitality and restaurant industry that provide the Property and Liability coverages often sought by hotels, cafes, golf courses, coffee shops and liquor liability risks.
What does Commercial General Liability (CGL) cover?
It helps protect businesses against liability claims to another for one’s negligence that results in bodily injury (BI) and/or property damage (PD).
What is Commercial Building Insurance?
Basic form policies can cover common perils like fires, tornadoes and hail storms. Broad and Special form policies may offer additional options for water damage, structural collapse, sprinkler leakage, or other types of perils.
Typical common exclusions on all three policy forms in Texas include damages from flood, earth movement, war, terrorism, nuclear disaster, wear and tear, insects and vermin.
Do I need Liquor Liability Coverage?
Any business that sells or serves beer, wine, craft cocktails or alcohol should review their liquor liability needs. Restaurants, nightclubs, coffee shops, food trucks and bring your own (BYO) venues can be held liable for damages or injuries caused by intoxicated patrons.
What is Workers’ Compensation?

What if I live near the Texas Coast?
Insurance companies may exclude windstorm and hail coverage from commercial property policies in or adjacent to Texas’ 14 coastal counties and including parts of Harris County. You might have to obtain a separate windstorm policy for wind and hail insurance along the Texas Coast or through the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) with one of our licensed Texas insurance agents.
Ask your local Britton and Britton insurance agent to include coverages that you feel are important.
